Is it just me? Every time today when I hit the big bad B button for bold text it doesn't present me with an editing region for my bold text. It just inserts the brackets, the B, the /B, all with nothing in between. I can work around it by putting my cursor in the middle and typing my text to be bolded. Is it just me? Using IE 6. Just tried it and it did it again. Had to stick my cursor in here and type

Yeah I thought that was how it always worked...

Nope, it never worked like this. I can live with it like this, sure. But consistent, it ain't.

I think the idea is that you select the text that you want to be formatted before clicking on the formatting icon.

Speaking of consistency, it appears that the bold, italics, and underline icons all work this way...
(but the link doesn't)

No, it's not you, it broke a couple of weeks ago.

OK, select, click B and there you are. Actually, I can live with that. It's preferable to the way I used to do it when it popped up an editing box and you basically had to find the box, type and then click again, more work that way. So, no complaints. Thanks for the explanation of how it best works now! Fact is I used to go NOW for emphasis instead of now!. Caps is still easier, but I may be more bold in the future... :D

It's a little idiosyncratic. If you have a space before your <text to be boldened>, it gets stripped out. Workaround - you have to have that space in your message, not between the [ ]'s.
