Boinc, what happens when you change passwords around?

I might try to recruit some crunchers from another forum and introduce them to rosetta. There is a slight chance that I'll convince someone to crunch in my account, so I was thinking about changing my password, letting whoever join, then after a week or two, changing it back. Will Boinc still run fine on their pc?

Good question! Never had that problem, but I'd guess the client will ask for the password. Maybe. :) I guess all you can do is try it.

I have done that. Nothing bad should happen. The client should not have any problems ...
What happens is that the users, who do not know the PW are not able to change the settings of the account. They can still detach from a project, and they can join projects (using their own name and PW) and everything else ...
If you use BOINCmanager 5.4.xx or older you may have problems with different user names for some projects - but I have not seen that now for a long time...

Sounds good, now I just need to write up a clever how-to, and cross my fingers.

Well, so far my old computer with the old login doesn't seem to have any troubles. Asslaminated 2 pcs so far, hopefully more will bite, and hopefully they'll leave it installed for a long long time :p
