Why do I have duplicate/split accounts in the BOINC combined stats?
The cause of this is the CPID, Cross Project IDentifier. Every project assigns a new user a CPID. It is partly based on the email address you used to sign up, the other part is random.
The CPID is used by BOINCstats to identify a user across projects.
Whenever you sign up with a new project, you'll get a new account on BOINCstats because the CPID is new.
What to do to make sure you'll end up with one BOINCstats account:
Use the exact same email address for every project.
Run at least one system with all projects, or one system with project A and B, and one system with project B and C. If there is a project that runs isolated from the other projects, it's CPID with never line up.
When you join a new project, this project assigns you a new CPID. This CPID can either change to the same CPID as the other projects, or the other projects change (one by one) to the new CPID.
It is impossible for me to manually edit your accounts to create one account. It would take to much time to do this for everyone. Just wait a while, and your accounts will line up automatically.
One last thing, which is not too important, but nice for the stats: use the same username across projects, otherwise you get a username like 'Al Bundy @ SAH / Al Bundy @ Predictor / A. Bundy @ CPDN'.
It can take some days before everything lines-up, especially if CPID must propagate across multiple computers, but as long as you're using the same email-address in all projects, there's a connection between all projects, and you successfully connects all projects Scheduling-servers daily until lined-up, they should eventually line-up...Originally posted by: narreth
ok i have the sempron 2800+ running rosetta + rieselsieve and the q6600 running rosetta and cpdn. they haven't come together yet but the stats are moving around and doing weird things. is this supposed to happen before it all comes together?
You must be attached to all projects to get cross-project-ID to be the same on all projects. You can set them to "no new work", but you should make a successful Schedling-server-connection atleast once a day until you're back to a single account...Originally posted by: narreth
sigh...
now there are three different accounts...
..go on boincstats and search for "arvind" ; you would see three accounts. Now it has one account with sieve and rosetta and one account with sieve and malaria and ANOTHER account with all the other projects (that im not doing right now)....
If you have detached from a project, you can't get it to combine with the other projects...Originally posted by: JWMiddleton
I have a similar problem, but I am listed 3 times. I did change my email ID just before I started on CPDN and synced the others shortly after. It has been many month and I don't suspect they will ever combine. At first it bothered me, but no longer. Guess I only have myself to blame. I'm sure there are many others.

Basically, the "easy" method to keep things combined are:
1; Make sure uses the same email-address on all projects.
2; Have one computer Attached to all projects. If don't want to run a particular project any longer, just set it to "No new work". Also setting really low resource-share can be an idea.
3; If you Attach a new project, or some other way gets "out of sync", just manually hit "Update" once a day on all projects, including them set to "No new work", until they're combined again.
Yes, as long as you're using same email-address on all projects.Originally posted by: narreth
i only need to attach to all projects on one PC for the two accounts to come together?
Well, it's maybe possible you've got a registration-mail that includes the account-key, if you haven't deleted it...Originally posted by: JWMiddleton
I was able to get all but <Einstein@Home as I could not figure out my login password. It is my old email addy, so I can't even have them send me the password.
So, I'll see how this goes.
Thanks again RD!
