Boinc keeps crashing

Its on my laptop, which I have set to not turn off anything when not in use. But 4 nights straight Boinc has died on me. The icon is in the tray still but isn't clickable and task mananger reveals that its not doing anything anyways. Its version 5.8.16 running on Vista and running RCN if it matters. Any ideas?

I'd un-install BOINC and completely remove the BOINC folder.

Restart your computer and begin again with a fresh install.

IMHO, You'll just waste time trying to figure out exactly "why". 😉

I just tried it on a "new" used comp - worked very well! 😀

Possibly something weird with my internet? I get logged off the system pretty much every day, although not necessarily the same time. Perhaps its trying for new WU's, thinks I'm online and freaks? Who knows. I'll find out tonight.

I read that someone changed the ip address to a different range as well to stop dropping the connections

Yup. And the internet here is weird. Its wireless, so you can always connect to the router, but you get defaulted to the company's page where you have to either purchase service or login if you already have. After that its internet as normal, however randomly you'll have to re-log back into the main page.
