Just an FYI, Viking screwed me last year on a similar deal.

Just checked status of my order. Everything was deleted except for the one item that was not free. I called customer service and they said the whole order was canceled.

Just checked my order status ... I too had all free items listed as "call 1-800 ..."

So I called 1-800 ... and the very nice CSR (answered on the first ring with no menus!) was able to add on any ONE of the freebies that I wanted. You need to place a separate order for each.

Doesn't look like anyone's going to get more than one free item. I called and they said they shipped the "game set" (still dont' know what the heck that is). Well we'll see what comes in, I guess. Otherwise I bought a roll of packing tape for $6.

I just called Customer Service. They said that somehow one of their catalogs got out with the promotional codes on it, but it didn't have all the information on it. That is, you needed a minimum $5 order to get the promotional gift and it was one gift per order. (I think it was one gift per user as well, but I don't remember.) They said that they had cancelled the order. We'll see if I get my hi-liter. If so, I'm going to complain and refuse the delivery or have them credit my credit card back.

Ah, it was too good to be true. Looks like I have to buy real x-mas presents for friends.

:Q :Q I can't believe this. This lesson in trusting these deal cost me $4.78 for one roll of packing tape. I am going to recieve the game set which was the only one I didn't want.
Sometimes it is "too good to be true," this is one of those times. I learned my lesson at a cost of expensive packing tape.

Please, edit the title or other stuff, so others don't get themselves ripped off.

The nice CSR lady that I talked to said nothing about the offer for free stuff being invalid. In fact, she bent over backwards trying to cram it into my order. She was able to get any ONE item on there, but I cancelled anyways since I have no idea what type/quality of stuff we were going to get.

Bleh! Got my $4.77 paperclips and "gameset" today. Delivered by OfficeDepot for Viking.

The gameset is a cheaply made, plastic-y case that includes the stuff for backgammon, chess, and dominos. It's really cheap - not even fake leather... more like fake plastic!

I guess you rolls the dice...

(wondering if OfficeDepot takes returns for Viking as well as delivers for them... gotta check to see if I can get my $4.77 back!)
