The recruiting scene with Ben Affleck is one of the finest moments of bad acting in the history of film.

Awesome movie.
Actually, it was perfectly casted and acted. You've just obviously never sat in on that type of situation in real life. I unfortunately have.

The thing with Boiler Room is that it tries to be Wall Street and Glengarry Glen Ross at the same time and fails miserably. It's good though, and a lot of it is pretty real, but IMO it falls short.

The script and/or context have little to do with Affleck's acting ability. He can't act. That scene is a perfect example. It's hilariously bad and the crowd I watched the film with agrees with me.

And BTW, you have absolutely zero idea of my life outside these forums, so please take greater care when making assumptions.

Dude... pull the stick out of your ass and go outside and take a walk or something. Anything will do as long as you step back from your computer.

the movie didn't start out slow. it was actually very fast paced, the character's evolution.

just re-watched it... that movie goes to show you the stock market is all about greed. Not even about the brokers, although that's obvious... even the guy buying low... when it tanked, he bought more because it was cheaper then and he was sold... greed.
