Hey, all: I'm going to be stopping by Boeing Surplus today, I'm curious if anyone has any recommendations for any cool things I can do with a relatively old system I could pick up from there... i.e. a Linux box, a small server, etc. Any ideas?

I think they're selling Pentium 200's or so now for their little tower systems.
 
You could do like a lot of my competitors do. Wipe off the dust, load them up with illegal software, sell them to noobs, then go out of business so when it breaks and needs a Windows re-install, the poor sap who bought it brings it to me and I have to tell them they're out of luck because they have no disks and docs.

Or, you could build a Linux box.

yea, i thought about it, but then i realized i have no idea where you're located 😱

you would have had a kick listening to my friend after her surgery... sounded like a 3 year old 😀

are you near meeker? because that's where i was... after i dropped her off, i had breakfast at the mcdonalds there and bought some headphones from the big kmart.

hmm i think it was brick. i know that it has some big black windows on it though.

so i take it you're with all the other businesses? safeway, burger king, mcdonalds, etc?
 
You were at the Kent Professional Center. Safeway, Burger King and McDonald's are west of where you were; the first about 3 blocks, the others about six blocks. I'm about 100 steps east.
