Surely they have exhausted all the alternate missions by now.
As the article stated there’s ground testing of the propulsion system going on with tear down of the thruster coming up. There’s also some hot fire testing coming up with the vehicle.

We’ll bring them home when the testing is complete and we understand the relative risks of all the options available.

 
... maybe SpaceX to the rescue.,.. in Feb 2025..? Cant they just admit that Boeings capsule is trash at this point, eject it and get online to get the space faring folk back? They have had ample time to try and figure out what they broke and its time to just fess up and move on.
 
The two astronaut stuck on ISS for nine months will be coming home soon.
