a380 Lower Wing Skin Panel

hmmmm...that looks like an almost completed skin panel on a fully functional jig....does Boeing even have any of the tooling for 7E7 yet...no.....it doesn't because it is just on paper.

Where did i say it would not be flying and there would not be customers or that it is behind schedule.

The 380 is going to face hurdles because of its size.

Nor have i said 7E7 will be a success.

Keep in mind, that this is just opening up the order book. They still need to get enough orders to get the board to approve the actual launch. Airbus already has enough launch customers for the A380 and the first aircraft will be ready in 2005-2006.

Actually I beleive that is questionable now that Japan said it would not be ordering the A380.

To me the above statement indicated that you believed that the A380 launch was questionable due to the Japanese Airlines reluctance. Is that not what you meant?

No I dont beleive its launch is in question. I dont think because of its size that it will be widely adopted. The a380 will require large changes to airport infrastructure to accomidate it.

The quote I referenced was about the acceptance of the japanese market being a "make or break" benchmark.

There were the same questions about 747 and that turned out well. We shall see about A380. American large commerical aviation production seems to be going the way of American car makers unfortunately. A day late and a dollar short, especially now that Boeing stands alone and has managed to run itself into the ground in that department.

Yes I agree boeing is suffereing lack of vision in the commercial airline department.

Another thing to note, airbus and boeing sell more a320s and 737s than anything else.

The buzz here in Washington State is the 7E7 will provide about 1200 jobs at Boeing. Of course we, the state taxpayers, only gave Boeing a $3 bil subsidy. That's only $2.5 mil per expected job. I employ 27 people at my businesses, wonder how I could get some of that action?

Take that back. Boeing gets no subsidies. Only evil unfair Airbus does.
