House Republican leaders will begin with a January vote to repeal and replace it with a scaled-back measure patterned after legislation by Republican Leader John Boehner of Ohio, said John Murray, a spokesman for House Republican Whip Eric Cantor of Virginia.

Boehner’s Alternative

The approach by Boehner -- who is expected to become speaker -- would expand coverage to 3 million Americans by 2019 without requiring Americans to have insurance. It would let businesses pool resources to buy coverage and allow insurance purchases across state lines. Boehner’s proposal would leave about 52 million people without insurance, meaning the proportion of Americans with coverage would remain unchanged in 2019 at 83 percent, according to the Congressional Budget Office.

According to CBO, no less. So that's what they are going to "replace" it with? 52 Million uninsured?

First it was 10 million. Then 20. Then 45 million. Now it's 52 million. Do I hear 100 million? 150 million?

Sickeningly stupid statistics at their best. Ignore the breakdown of XX million. Ignore that many in that group don't want it. Have decided not to pay for it. Etc. Lump them together to sound bigger.

Keep it up. Attention grabbing headlines and artificially inflated numbers are a great base to build policy from.

Maybe they should quit crying about not having insurance and get better job? Or better yet, get off unemployment and get a job... Craziest thing, most people have to work hard for what they have... Ask your parents... Quit "expecting" handouts and "privileges" just for being American..

And if you can't afford it?

Then you better dig your damn hole, crawl in it, cover it up with dirt before you die, 'cause your on your own.

Right?

getting a terminal disease, being in a car accident, a victim of a random act of violence and we all sing a different song.

The uninsured can always pay cash. I have no problem with this.

Wow. It's like the same talking points from 2 years ago are being rehashed. It's been said a thousand times but if someone without insurance gets really sick they aren't going to pay. Leaving the hospital to raise the rates on you and YOUR insurance. I cant believe you are honestly still towing this little crumb of misinformation.

In the U.S. healthcare for the impoverished and illegals is free. You just have to be patient enough while waiting in the emergency room.

The point is that is what happens but it doesnt save you any money. Come on man. Who's gonna eat that bill? You think a crutch is really $250?

Yet the only thing Democrats have chosen to address is forcing people to buy insurance. That doesn't cover either of the problems you've mentioned.

No wonder people wanted that bunch of losers out of office.

Lulz, the people have spoken. God bless the USA.

"Overall, which party, the Democrats or the Republicans, do you trust to do a better job handling health care reform going forward?" Options rotated

There is absolutely nothing in the healthcare bill that will make it more affordable to hard working Americans. Those who choose not to pay can get second class service. I have no problem with this.
