I am not a republican. So the media trying to downplay Benghazi so obama can win the election isn't trying to advance a political agenda? The media blaming the video isn't trying to advance an agenda?

The US should not have been in Libya because those same "rebels" who were fighting for "freedom" were the same ones killing Americans in Iraq. When they murdered Ghadaffi they said that Libya would be run by Islamic law.
obama had no authority to go into Libya, there was no declaration of war from the Congress, he just went right in there. Policing the world only makes the US less safer. What he did was un-Constitutional. Libya posed no risk to the US.

It's the old smear and fear/doom and gloom shtick that keeps the Repub base locked in their basements until it's time to vote Repub again. The ones that believe this stuff are always somber, moody and incessantly bitch about how bad things are and how good things used to be, while the ones that are smart enough to know better keep spreading it around to feed the need. Works every time.
Without this form of propagandistic control, the Repub party would exclusively consist of a bunch of angry old white men shaking their canes and fists at the world, defiant to the very end.
As an aside, now that the Repubs have gerrymandered their way into minority control over many states, I'd sure like to see what they come up with to scam the ethnic minority voters over to their side.

I think you are confusing motive in this comparison. After Newton, people have certainly been trying their best to come up with ways to prevent another similar tragedy from happening. Regardless if their solutions are flawed, there is honest and substantive reason behind it.
With Bengazi, there is not. Clinton has accepted responsibility for communication failures at the State Department. She put together an independent panel to investigate the failures, and has implemented EVERY recommendation the panel suggested to help prevent this situation from ever happening again. There is nothing more that can practically be done at this point, yet Republicans continue to waste our time with hearings. What we are witnessing is an all-out attempt to use these failures as a political weapon - the pony show and fake outrage they had yesterday is perfect proof of it.

You yet again prove how little you understand and how that's why your views are so horrible skewed. Let's compare two tragedies and how the sides responded to them, Newtown and Benghazi.
Newtown. The left responded to Newtown by pushing for an examination of gun control laws and how they can be changed to try to prevent these tragedies from occurring again. At no point did the left attempt to place blame on members of the right for this tragedy occurring.
Benghazi. The right responded to Benghazi by trying to figure out how Obama and his staff can be blamed. They hold hearings and try to ruin political careers. At no point has the right tried to look at how security can be improved, how preventing violent acts of extremists by reaching out can be achieved, or how to improve intelligence and communication to prevent a situation like this in the future.
At the heart of these situations we see the difference in how the right and left reacted. The left used the situation to look forward to how this can be avoided in the future, the right looked backward to see who can be blamed to score political points. And this is at the heart of the difference between right and left. The left is looking forward and moving forward while the right is looking backwards and moving backward.
