McConnell is worried about getting primary'd out. It's a perfect time for the Dems to get rid of him in 2014. Fund his Tea People challenger. Get that turtle out of office.

Even if he lost in the primary all that would accomplish is electing a second Tea Party Senator in his place. You have to remember Rand Paul won decisively in 2010 and Romney swept Kentucky by a healthy margin.

Just need to find the right tea person. One who isn't unafraid to speak in public about actual GOP views.

Where does this assumption come from that we will have to wait until 11/2014 to fix McConnell's wagon?

Just because McConnell is willing to risk a fiscal cliff almost certain to be blamed on the GOP, does not mean his coalition of some 46 other GOP Senators are similarly suicidal. And it only takes 6 or so GOP Senators to tell McConnell where to shove it and McConnell loses his only weapon under current filibuster rules. The other risk for McConnell becomes, when the opening Senate gavel bangs in early 2013, Mitch McConnell may not win reelection as Senate minority leader.

With the House in the hands of the Republicans they can call the shots if they were smart about it. Dont worry they are just obstructionists. O'Bamma will save you!

The answer to Kentucky Teahadists & McConnell? Give 'em what they want!

I agree.

I'm really starting to hope that we can go over this damn fiscal cliff once and for all (seriously). People wan't government, pay for it. If not, don't expect to get it. Simple as that...and KY is one of the worst states I've seen for this kind of crap. I know so many people on SS (and SSI) that can work that it's pathetic.

So, paisabird, you think O'Bamma should cave into GOP obstructionists. Last time a fellow named Newt Gingrich tried a similar stunt in 1998 against President Bill Clinton, it didn't exactly work to the benefit of the GOP.

The GOP has until 12/31/2012 to get real or else. And if Boehner gets more realistic, Mitch McConnell will become totally isolated and reviled within the GOP.

Get real piasabird, do you really really think, after four years of the GOP totally screwing the Obama agenda, that Obama should now feel sorry for the poor ole GOP. Or that the election of 11/2012 was somehow a electoral mandate for the GOP agenda that lost seats in both the Senate and the House. Not to mention Obama getting reelected and winning 8 of 9 swing states.

You crazy person piasabird.
