seriously. Twice the price of an LCP?

I know a lot of people say 9mm is the smallest you should go but at the ranges you are talking about 6 rounds of .380 hollow point is PLENTY.
 
$850 for an unproven "look how much better we are!" gimmick gun vs. $500 for a Glock 26/Khar PM9...absolutely no contest.

It doesn't say that the ammo used is +p, it just says the other weapon can't handle +p. Of course, I can't think of any decent pistol nowadays that can't handle +p...maybe they were using a Hi-Point or something?

That's how they are getting the higher numbers, imo.
 
Of course being able to fire the +P is an advantage. Whether it will be fun to do so in that gun is another question.

Almost 3 times as much an an LCP. I've been seeing them go for $299.99 a lot lately.
 
The big question is that with a gun that short and a round with that much power how you control it to hit anything that your not touching.

Fair enough. When I got mine right when they came out they were more like $350-400. For that price get two, one for each pocket!

This is my point. My LCP actually shoots pretty well but I still don't feel comfortable past 5-7 yards (and it took me 4 boxes to get there). Add in the slight extra kick of 9mm and you are really only using this gun for close quarters personal protection. At this range I don't feel like 7 rounds of 9mm gives you anything 6 rounds of .380 doesn't.

Not just the extra kick of a 9mm. The extra Kick of a 9mm +P. There is a significant difference imho. Like shooting 38 +P vs 357 out of my S&W 686.

Only thing about the .380, is there are tests that show hollow point .380 are not that effective against a heavy down/leather jacket or other heavy clothing. Most say its best to just use FMJ's if using a .380 for self defense.

Personally I wouldnt feel comfortable with anything less than a 9mm

Damn that's a good deal.

Good luck carrying anything in Texas in the summer then. Personally I feel fine shooting someone 5 feet away with 6 bullets of anything.

They have video of people firing the guns. now whether they were staged in some way, we'll never know, but the recoil seems very manageable.
 
While I prefer a .45 for self defense and daily carry, I don't dispute the pros of having a very compact weapon. Trying to come onto the scene with something that lots of other guns already have is difficult, especially at that price range.

Personally I'll probably pick up a kahr as a backup rig in addition to a daily carry .45. The availability and reliability of them has been proven and the diversity of the 9mm round is what sells me on it. while the ballistics between a .380 and 9mm are similar, I believe a 9mm is more useful.

And personally I feel that the whole +P issue has become overblown. I don't dispute that the extra pressure is nice, it's not really necessary when going against an unprotected soft target.

i just picked up that ruger 380 at gander mountain locally, 299$. nice little thing.
 
I honestly don't feel the need for anything smaller then my Walther PPS 9mm. I can wear it with nothing more then shorts and a T-shirt and it's invisible.

Well yeah, but it doesn't say that +p was used for either pistol in the testing, it just says the other can't handle +p. I mean, it's possible that said "XR9-S" did use +p to get those numbers but I don't see it written.
