Boards with 64bit PCI

What decent motherboards are available with 64Bit PCI slots? Doesnt have to be a dual processor setup, can be single. In fact, single would be preferred. Amd processor.

Dont suppose there are any nForce2 base boards featuring this?

Any upcoming Athlon64 boards that will be sporting this?

Need to have 4 or 8X AGP slot also. Would like support for 333mhz ram, if not possible no big deal.

For reference, it's called PCI-X, and has been used on many server machines like the HP Netserver and such over the past years. I don't know of any consumer class motherboard with it off hand, though.

Tyan Tiger MPX comes to mind. No nForce2 that I know of, and it doesn't look like nForce3 will either, but VIA K8T400M will (Opteron chipset) and should be offered in both single- and dual-processor boards.

Any AMD 760MPX board will have 64bit 66Mhz slots. You can run single or dual Athlons in them.

Can you run a athlon 64 on the VIA K8T400M or is it strictly for the Opteron (server) processor?

Ive acquired a Adaptec U160 SCSI card. Its a 64 bit card. Yes I know you can run it in 32 bit mode, but will I lose any performance? If no, I can wait for the next generation boards.

Basically id like to wait and see if a opteron or athlon64 board comes out sporting the requirements I need. Then I can upgrade my mobo and processor all in one shot.

For reference, PCI-X is a type of 64 bit PCI that runs at 100MHz and 133MHz. It may have other differences from the "regular" 64 bit 66MHz PCI, but I'm not certain about that.

What is regular 64-bit PCI? You need the X (as in extra) connections to make the bus 64-bit. Kinda like going from the original 8-bit PC connection to the 16-bit, they just added on to what existed.

Or are you saying there's a PCI slot that is identical to the standard one found on everyday motherboards that is 64-bit and backwards compatible with 32-bit PCI? How's that work?

No. A 32 bit PCI slot is like the ones you're used to seeing. All 64 bit PCI slots (both PCI and PCI-X) look very similar (if not the same) - see here for some PCI-X slots and here for some PCI slots. I've found a PDF that explains just a bit more about 64bit/66MHz PCI and 64bit/133MHz PCI-X, if you want to have a look at it.

No $hit!?! I had no idea there was anything other than PCI-X - apparently I've lived in serverland for a little too long. Since the two slots are icompatable but look much the same, I wonder how many have tried to crap a "square" card into a "round" slot. That's gotta hurt.
