If you're using onboard, do you really need DVI? If you're monitor only has a DVI input, then get a DVI to vga adaptor. The only real reason I could see for DVI is a direct hookup to a tv so that it autodetects the tv's resolution.

The shuttle based on the rs480 chipset has both DVI and VGA, this is the only board I know of that has onboard dvi at this time.

EDIT: I know some of the upcoming 945G boards have onboard DVI, infact dell's SX series with the 915G chipset come with DVI, but it sounds like you want one based on the ATI chipset.

Is the shuttle one only available in the SFF case?

I want it for 2 reasons.
1. I had read that if you want dual-head out with the RS480 chipset it needs to have DVI onboard.
2. My flat panel has a DVI connnection, why not use it?

if he has a LCD dvi will give him better picture quality. digital vs analog converted to digital

i too would like to see a manufacture follow the ati reference design and have dvi on the board. i think that chipset has potential, but not manufacturers are using it.

I believe the more cost, ease, and time efficient option here is to buy a cheap video card with DVI out.

I really doubt you'll see better video quality on an integrated chipset with a dvi connection rather then a vga connection. I can tell no difference in quality with my pc (5900) hooked up to my Sammy DLP when I hook it up through the vga verse the dvi, same with the pair of dell 1703s when hooked up dvi vs. vga to the 5200 that came with the gx270.

But your right, if you have the DVI of course you want to use it, i just don't think your going to notice the difference in quality with the RS480 integrated chipset. Personally, i just bought the Jetway board and i'm waiting for my 3200+ venice and a gig of g-skill to arrive so I can see how the board overclocks. I'll let you know how it compares to my 5900 with the 5900 hooked up dvi and the ati hooked up vga to my LG 1720 lcd.
