A deck of cards(Black Tiger Deck) with a set of clay poker chips is all you need and is > any & all board games.

Greed... all you need is six dice. We played it once w/ a group of people, now dice parties are popping up.

I have never been so bored in my life as when I have been forced by friends to play board games. They are slow paced and sucky.

If you want some REAL games, head over to boardgamegeek.com. That being said, I always play the following with "regular" people

Blokus
Carcassonne: Hunters and Gatherers
Apples to Apples
Cranium
Ticket to Ride
Ticket to Ride: Europe

I've only heard of cranium. Are most of the other ones "thinking" games that take a while to learn? Most of the people I hang out (drink) with aren't in much of a state to learn a complicated game, nor would half of them want to if they were sober.

Best party game ever.

Balderdash, Settlers of Catan, and Tongiaki are also quite good.

For Trivial Pursuit, I like the 90s version best.
