I remember last year at the BMW dealer and the arrogance with these people is through the roof. I'm glad these fuckers are suffering.

25% down is not bad at all compared to some of the others. Porsche sales were down ~50% last month.

If you want a good deal, look at used luxury market. Dealers are offering super low-ball trade-in offers and many private party buyers can't get decent used car loan rates. If you're a cash buyer, you have tremendous power right now to deal and pick and choose what you want.

I had a very pleasant buying experience when I picked up my BMW. Guess I just got lucky . . .

Yup, around here truly night and day when compared to the Acura and Lexus dealers which are on average much more pleasant...my next car will most likely be acura though a shame as I do like BMW and Audi.

My Acura TL buying experience was extremely pleasant, no pressure sales tactics etc. I'll buy there again, except I absolutely hate the new body styling of the TL's. Hopefully when it comes time for me to buy my next car in 3-4 years they'll have a better looking vehicle available.

I thought BMW has a one price policy with no negotiation??

For me Mini Cooper was the worst experience. Nice people, but they really don't care if you buy or not because someone else will buy that car. The dealer also adds all kinds of options that you really don't want or need in order to jack up the price. Warm weather kit in Florida?? Add on GPS??

Don't buy a 3 series BMW IMO. I won't buy one until I can afford a 5 series at least. If you're buying a BMW, it's a little lame IMO to buy the cheapest one possible. Owning a BWM is supposed to indicate a certain success level, not a "stretched-my-credit-card-to-buy-the-cheapest-possible"

Unless you're just buying it for performance only and not status of course

You're an idiot. The 3 series is BMW's signature model. A 128i with vinyl is, IMO, more of a "true" BMW than a loaded 760li, in that it is a highly entertaining, precise handling, trackable car. IMO the 335i is, the most desirable car among current BMWs, with the possible exception of the M3. BMW is not Mercedes or Lexus - bigger is not better when it comes to BMWs.

Never heard of that when I bought mine. Guess some dealers could be doing that on their own though.

335ci. Twin turbos FTW!

Or 335xi, with AWD for those with snow and ice.

Meh. I don't really see the point of the xi cars, and I live in Minnesota of all places. The extra weight and raised ride height hurt handling all of the time, and the AWD simply isn't necessary as long as you invest in a good set of snow tires. My 330i Sport on Blizzaks is worlds better in snow than my old FWD Maxima on A/S tires.

The 1 series is kinda fugly. BMW was going to lose business with their ape shit ugly X6 and pointless 1 series. THey pushed up the price on the 3 series trying to divide a market they owned pretty handily.

I agree, the 1 series is completely undesirable.

I don't typically agree with Don, and I won't entirely in this case either, however there are two differnt consumers when it comes to BMW, those who look to status (the majority) and those who want performance (the minority)...

For the status set, the lower ranks of the line are what they turn their noses up at...bmw = wealthy and thus those who are buying the cheapo models are just living beyond their means...

for the performance set, so long as it is fun and handles well then it is cool with them

Personally I associate more with the latter however I can see why those who care more about status would feel the way they do.
