Can a guy get away with driving this car or is it like the VW beetle where its best off being a chicks car?

No, I think that anyone can drive it. You're going to get weird looks no matter what.

That said, I'm not a huge fan of it.

I like the Me-163 I have.

That car is by no means "Manly" or masculine. It's unisex if you ask me.

I'd say it's a unisex car. NE1 would "look ok" driving. Can't say the same for a VW Cabriolet though :p

I know that BMW's marketing dept. doesn't want the MINI to become another VW Bug. They've tried to market it as a "bulldog."

Anything but a Cooper S, I would consider a chick car.

It certainly isn't the epitome of masculinity though...
