Hell yeah. My car is as factory riced out as it comes. Suicide doors alone tip the rice scales.
Mazda3's can be really nice though. There is nothing ricey about these two. (Cept the spoiler on the hatch.)

The whole 'rice' thing is abused now. Since Fast and Furious, all the driving games and other movies; the rice look is 'hot' as much as pulling up in a German/Italian supercar.

The main problem I find is dudes not picking the right car for their personal look.

Any beater is a beater.

I have a very conservative 98 240SX SE, and have had hecklers yell JDM TITE and NICE FART CAN, etc.

The former is sort of true the latter not really. My exhaust doesn't buzz.

Personally I think one should do whatever they want with their car. The only time I get bent out of place is the dudes with $30k in performance parts on a car they won't even redline out of fear nor ever take it to a track because that would be abuse.

I'd not even bat an eye though if it was also their daily driver, but WTF in building a race car if you don't race it ever.

Wow OP, you think lowering 1" with aftermarket rims and an exhaust is rice?

There is "Mod" and there is "Rice." Let's go through some examples.

Mod: Lower car by 1" - Rice: Lower car to point of rub
Mod: OEM spoiler - Rice: 4 feet tall spoiler
Mod: Wheels within size constraint - Rice: 24" spinners
Mod: Upgraded sound system - Rice: no sound system, just 4 subwoofers run off 5000w amp
Mod: Exhaust upgrade - Rice: Exhaust tip upgrade

lol, it's true though. Go to Chinatown in NYC on any given day and you'll see a bunch of them in S4's, 3 and 5 series, Porsche and a few new GT-R's. I haven't seen a GT-R without an Asian driver YET.

What kills me is how can these young kids afford these cars? Most of them look like they just got out of high school. o_O

Rich parents or drugs, or a combination of the two. When I went to university, all the Arab kids drove new BMWs. Nice to know where my $1.06/litre in gas goes.
