I'm not sure where you live, but here in East Lansing I have noticed in increase in BMW being driven by Asians. They are normally easy to spot since they have been lowered down an inch or two, and have the black or gunmetal powdered rims. On top of that, they have a $3000 exhaust pipe on the back that makes it sound like it's revving at 8k RPMs D: Below is a good example of what they look like. Is this the new trend, rich Asians come over here and using their parents money to buy a beamer?

The late 90's to mid 00's are falling into the ranges where 20somethings and teens can afford to get in.

The E36 M3 is a steal for the performance it offers.

How can we allow such travesty to take place. Maybe we should lock them all away in work camps.

My relatively old BMW does not have ricer pipes...but that noise you hear is it being revved to 8K rpms.

You think that's bad? Go to bimmerforums... you'll see most of them put on replica 19" or 20" wheels on their car, replica M bumpers, replica headlights with angel eyes, and then they take off their resonators and muffler... while making fun of civics at the same time. :hmm:

Replica wheels and lights are hardly in ricer territory.

I am hoping you at least own a bimmer if you are lurking those forums though...that's more poser than anything.

The other day I saw a 1999 or 2000 mustang driven by a filipino (Winnipeg, Manitoba has the largest filipino population outside of the phillipines IIRC) and he put a damn wing on it. Then a few weeks later I saw another filipino driving a red impala. Not a bad choice in car, I drive a Monte Carlo and I like both -- thing was he spray-painted the damn thing black all over.

If you're going to rice out a car then at least stick to imports of asian origin ffs!

If they look like FOBs their parents are probably multimillionaires in China/Japan/Korea wherever. Also, its a cultural thing

My old roommate's parents still live in HK and absolutely refused to let him drive his 05 Accord to dental school, she wired him 40k USD the same day and said buy something that is nice. lol

Putting replica wheels and bumpers, and lights on a car to make it look like something it isn't is IMHO approaching ricer territory. Much like putting VTEC stickers on Toyota's, or Honda's that don't have Vtech. Body kits on them to make them look like "race cars".

I can appreciate some lowering of a car to help fill the wheel gap, smoked tail lights, turn markers ect, but outright putting stuff on a car to try and trick people into thinking it is something different is RICE.

Any car can be riced out. Civics and Integras are the most common ones, but E36s aren't that far behind.

People rice out anything they can. I'm guessing you haven't seen riced out stangs, camaros, suv's and everything else.
