BMW E46 (3-Series) Coupes and Convertibles get facelift

It looks descent, aside from those fugly cutouts for the foglights in the front bumper.
3 series looked best when it first came out. After that it's slowly getting bangled.

Not too bad, I agree about the foglights cutout, but all in all, not too bad at all 🙂

Good to see BMW can still make nice looking cars, unlike the fugly Z4, and the new 6.

I'm very impressed by the Z4 personally.

Looks much better than the 2nd refresh. Though I don't understand why they even changed it after the 1st one. That was the best one.

Me too but only after seeing them in person.

I don't think this looks TOO bad, but it seems silly to have repeated "refreshes" of such a handsome design, especially when the car keeps getting worse, not better.

The front is OK....not as "flowing" as I'd expect from an E46 (those headlights look like they were just plastered on and don't match up with the lines of the car)

As for the rear? I like it 😀 The tail lights getting cut off by the trunk line looks cool...one question though - what the hell are those "rivets" along the bumper line for? Those need to go 😕

I'm pretty sure that's what they are (the article mentions the presence of the warning system, but doesn't say if those holes are sensors or not)...they should be able to impliment such a system without costing exterior appearance IMO...

Maybe I'll change my mind once they start appearing everywhere like the Z3's.

But really, it looks too flashy for my taste, if I wanted flash I'd go drool over a Ferrari or Lambo, BMW's should look...more moderate.
But that's just my oppinion, and you know what they say about oppinions 🙂

Designer of the new 3 series needs help coming up with better idea than that!!! the first 2000 redesign of the 3 series were the greatest but after that nothing but downhill came from them:disgust: looks like the new fog light design were copied from the suburu WRX :|.

The Z4 kicks a$$ in person. BMW wanted a car that men would like, and I think they hit the nail on the head! The new 7 is still growing on me, but I do not have high hopes for the new 5 and 6. iDrive sucks compared to Audi's MMI, imo.

As for this face-lifted 3, it's so-so. Maybe more aggressive looking. What BMW needs is that new 6-speed mated to highwe-HP engines to blow Infiniti back into the water.

I liked the first design best as well, my uncle got one of those.. Out of these new designs though, I must say I like the 325i Compact they have.. wonder if there will also be a 330i Compact..
