BMW ?cancels E92 M3 CSL?

The CSL was kind of a joke. TG reviewed the old one, and tbh, didn't seem worth getting. It was just lighter.

Edit: That said, they should can that dumbass X5 M thing; what a load of garbage that is.

Yeah, seriously, I just randomly watched that segment from whatever season it was. Clarkson thought it was awesome.

QFT.

CSL was so nice, but so expensive too. However, I think he said the CSL was a joke due to the fact that it's so much more expensive than a standard M3, so he'd rather spend that money on modding his M3 instead.

Yes, instead of engaging in an adult conversation, you resort to childish attacks that are completely inappropriate to the context. You don't have a life, or any class.

The CSL is just some lightened M3, there's no practicality to it, you just want to go fast and show off how big your small dick is to everyone.

lol, it's not exactly a V6 either. 😉

This thread has quickly disintegrated into 😕

lol

The CSL was great for certain enthusiasts. Why hate on what works for them? I prefer AC, power stuff, but variety is what makes it so everyone can find a car that fits them.

Ah well, with the global economy slide, guess it makes sense to cut some small-unit models. They probably would have made another very limited run of them anyway.

I liked the idea behind the CSL as much as the next BMW guy. But seriously, I would never realisticly consider paying so much money for a car and then have so much stuff not be in it to make it viable for daily driving.
So it is not like this car would ever be on my shopping list, so I don't feel good nor bad about it.

OK but for those who want a CSL here is the recipe if you haven't got the memo 😛

1- Buy an E92 M3
2- Rip the AC and sound system and sell them or keep them in your living room as decoration
3- Install racing slicks after selling the M3 tires for $$
4- Make a plastic trunk lid from a mould of the current trunk lid then sell the M3 trunk lid for $$ or just keep it hung above your bedz
5- Buy a Carbon fibre hood from an ebay rice seller
6- Remove the trunk floor and replace it with a thick piece of cardboard from a big LCD box or something 😛
7- Order a thinner rear glass or just freaking sand the current one lol

You are set.

Althought Clarkson praised the CSL for its track prowess, it was quite obvious that he thought it was completely worthless as an everyday usable car, and a lot of his compliments were backhanded ones. It's unbelievable how BMW could strip out basically every ammenity and then strip out some more to the point of not being street legal in the US, and then increase the price by $40,000 over a regular M3. What exactly are you paying for? Surely a carbon fiber roof and some racing slicks can't cost $40,000 plus the cost of all the equipment that was stripped out. You could easily buy a regular M3 and strip out only what you didn't want and modify it to be much better performing than a CSL for far less than $40 grand.

The CSL also has 360hp version of the S54, a faster steering rack and fully revised suspension geometry. It is not simply a strip job.

Oh, OK. Well knowing that, I have to say that BMW is shooting themselves in the foot, only charging $40k more for that monumental list of expensive upgrades.

Sorry, kid, but you?ve already proved your immaturity and lack of class. Now go back to playing with your pokemon cards.

*ignoring all the childish remarks and haters*

With the performance of the last CSL, can you imagine how insane an E92 version would be? Makes me giddy just thinking about it.

You hate BMW, so you'll never get it. I doubt you have driven either the regular or CSL version, so maybe you could go and post in a thread you can add something useful to?

CAI. The intake system is slightly modified on the CSL, but the regular e46 M3 has it too.

Carbon Fiber air box is to die for on the CSL. Look up some youtube videos on it, the sound is absolutely unreal.

Nice assumption. I've never said I didn't like BMW's. So I'll say this again, NOT STREET LEGAL in the US. Why would I have driven or have even the slightest interest in a car that is a blatant ripoff and can't even be driven in the US? There is no justification for the huge price hike over a standard M3 for that car, and you have done nothing to provide evidence that there is.

Clarkson guzzles every bit of BMW jizz. Its no surprise.

That statement is redundant. You cannot say with any credibility that the car is a rip off when all you have ever seen is a picture.

I am fully aware it was not sold in North America, hence how I know you have never driven one.

I need to provide you with nothing. You're just spouting vitriol just because it's expensive. Want a dip to go with that chip on your shoulder?
