Just got the BFG 6800 Ultra so I did a clean system reinstall. Installed the latest drivers (66.93) and am using the DVI to VGA adaptor that it came with to output to my Sony G400 CRT monitor. Whereas the 9800 Pro I had just a couple of hours ago displayed perfect, crisp text, the 6800U has blurry, fuzzy text. It's like there is a slight ghosting of the text which is hurting my eyes even after only a few minutes. Going down to a lower resolution like 800x600 does help the situation, but I prefer being at 1024x768.

I've search through different threads on how the 6800 series in general seem have this fuzzy text problem with the VGA output, but there have been no concrete solutions outside of buying a DVI equipped monitor. Any help?

What refresh rate are you using when you're at 1024x768? If you're running a really high one (for example, the last CRT monitor I had supported 150Hz at that resolution), you might just be pushing the limits of the analog signal.

If that's not it, I'm not quite sure what to tell you then. My 6800GT is pretty iffy at high resolutions (1600x1200 and up, at 85Hz and up) over the analog output, but it was just fine at 1024x768. Do you perhaps have another monitor that you can test the video card with? Also, you should probably try the other DVI output (with the adapter) just to make sure it does the same thing with both.

Thanks for the responses guys! I appreciate it. After some experimentation, I got another video cable. Turns out it was electrical interference with my original cable and a better shielded one did the trick!
