Blurry/pixlated Windows XP

so a few days ago one of my boxes begins to act up, the screen gets extremely pixlated and blurry, so i swapped out my current monitor for another one and the screen is still the same.

so try swapping out the video card with a new one same problem.

now i've formated and used the the new video card and its still the same problem.

anyone have any ideas what it may be? i'll post up pics soon as i get home from work.

You promised pics! 😛

but let me take a shot:
right click desktop --> properties --> settings --> advanced
now see the first box "Display" and the dropdown for "DPI setting"
change that to "Normal size (96 DPI)"
yadda yadda yadda
good?

holy! i've never seen that before.
when you swapped monitors, did you use the same cable or different cable?

I'm guessing that as you're on a half-decent LG screen, you're using a DVI input, yes? If so, I'd definitely look to replace that cable, as not only does it look like it's partly broken, it's the last thing left to try 😉

that screen is actually being used by another system, and on that system the screen works perfectly.

and on this machine ive tested it with two different monitors, both with different cables...
