blurry monitor back...

My Dell P990 is going crazy. After working fine for 5 years, it went blurry one day. I turned off my monitor, restarted, and eventually it was ok, for about 5 days. Yesterday it went blurry again. I'm sure its not my video card as other monitors work fine. I"m running at a refresh rate of 75hz so i don't think i'm pushing the monitor. I also switched power outlets to make sure that wasn't the problem. Everything on the monitor is blurry, even the OSD. Every now and then though, it clicks, as if i've changed the res or refresh rate, and clears up for a few seconds, then fades into blurriness again. Anyone have any idea what the problem could be?

Try dropping the moniter to its lowest settings (refresh res ect)... or even try booting into DOS or enter the BIOS.... if the monitor is still the same the tube is on the way out mate..
 
yeah its blurry all the way from POST to windows....it goes back and forth...been working fine for the last few hours. wierd.

Try hitting it, otherwise degaus over and over again, and also check for any magntic devices that may cause problems with it.

believe it or not thats the very first thing i did...give it a good old smack. then another. and another. didn't do much.
