blurry line when running full screen video

i get a very blurry picture when playing a dvd in fulls screen mode, regardless of what program i use. any ideas?

video card is a 6800 GT (BFG)

my 6800Oc had problems while viewing dvds full screen too, there were lines everywhere and it wasnt clear. Problem got partially fixed( still get problems when a zoom in DVDs) with the beta drivers on the Nvidia site (not official). Right now I'm using the VXG drivers and its ok too

i tried the newest drivers on the nvidia site to no avail

i lowered the screen res to 1280*1024 and all is good. whats the problem with 1600*1200???

The "problem" is that DVD native resolution is 720x480 for NTSC and x576 for PAL. The higher your display resolution, the more will that deficiency become visible. TV CRTs, with their low resolution and general blurriness, mask that. High quality computer CRT or LCD show you in the finest detail how poor DVD picture quality actually is (in comparison to computer-generated output).

Since a DVD is 720x480 then nobody REALLY runs DVD's at 1600x1200 even in fullscreen mode. The source is only 720x480, it's just scaled to fit the 1600x1200 resolution, which "zooms" in just like zooming in on a photo in Photoshop.

I have a similar problem i think, when i resize the window to full screen i get lines across the screen and the images are overlapping, but if i resize it down a little it looks okay. any ideas about this? i'm using intervideo windvd6.

OMG, I thought I was the only person who had this issue! I have the same exact card and the same exact problem! Using WinDVD6 (which I prefer) this problem occurs with all DVDs. The only way around it is to use NvDVD 2.0 and update your drivers. But other players will still not work. Pisses me off, too. It ain't rocket science.

I guess that's what happens when you offshore all your jobs to China & India.

cool glad to see someone else with this problem, How do i download this nvdvd, i looked in nvidia's website and all i get is this link to get a patch for it but not the actual player.

i still don't know how to get nvdvd. I also noticed the dvd video stutters a bit in windows media player and is unbearable in Windvd. Sound sometimes cuts out too. what's the deal here?

I use WinDVD 4 and I play my DVD's at 1152x864 and the image quality is excellent. Try it.

I dunno what all these otheres are talking about, but I was having almost the EXACT same problem with my BFG 6800GT running full-screen DVD's and Divx on my 1600x1200 CRT and 1680x1050 LCD... then I simply updated my drivers. I chose the 71.20's and have had ZERO problems since running at ANY resolution I want.

For reference, I use PowerDVD for DVD's and WMP 10 for any other files and they all play with 0 blurry lines or artifacts now. I was using the "official" latest drivers from nVidia (dated something like nov 9th) so that was my only mistake.

One of the really funny parts was that I could run movies and files at almost full screen with no blurries but as soon as I went to full the blurries began. Kinda strange...

I have a GeForce 6800 OC and am having this SAME issue. When i watch video files or DVDs in full screen, the image gets a bit blurry with lines and it looks almost as if it is projecting a double vision image. I am running on a dell 17" ultrasharp at 1280x1024. I just installed and put together my computer and got the latest drivers off of Nvidia. I've tried lowering the resolution on my monitor to no avail. I've tried WMP10 and Nvidia DVD 2.0 also with the same problem.

Anyone know how I can fix this?

Also, if you are using NVDVD, change your decoding from "default" to "WMV9". I've done both suggestions, and I am now able to watch movies in full screen on my 2001FP at 1600x1200.
