Bluray drives

My DVD reader drive is dying on me, and I believe it's out of warranty (check that later).

I'm wondering whether I should wait for Bluray drives (I'm already sold on them vs HD) or buy a Plextor 712a from my stock for 60$.

Thoughts?
 
Just like with CD and DVD burners, the first generation won't be worth buying for most people.

End of next year, several hundred dollars, discs $10-30 each.
