Bluetooth?

You need to catch up.

The limited bandwidth makes it impractical for high speed or large data transfers, but I do like the idea of cordless peripherals.

Well it was never intended for high speed or large data transfers, but more for the "Personal Area Network" thing (the cordless peripherals). It's taken so long to catch on, I hope it continues to be developed, as I'd love to lose the cables at my desk. 🙂
