Bluetooth thumb keyboard? Can't type on this touchscreen anymore on my smartphone...

I used slide out physical keyboards on my phones for years. I absolutely fly on them and they require no concentration to type accurately on. I don't even have to look at the keys and the arrow keys are a godsend.

I have used the Google Nexus for 1.5 years and I hate typing on it.

I use my phone for work and I have to type a LOT. By a lot I mean I'm answering 50 emails a day on it and sending out 30-some texts. I sorely, sorely miss having a physical thumb keyboard. Right now I dread using my phone for the amount of work that I have to do with it.

I've had enough practice. I want to go back to a physical keyboard.

Can anyone recommend a modern world phone with a slide out keyboard, the latest Android, and high screen res?

If not, is there a mini bluetooth keyboard or something that can attach to the phone so it becomes one unit? There's this keyboard but it's useless if it can't somehow attach to the phone.

Maybe you should consider trying the new Blackberry with a physical keyboard? I like being on Android but sometimes I want my keyboard back too.

Learn to swipe type. I can type one handed faster than I ever could two handed with hardware keys.

Swype doesn't work all too well because the stuff that I type isn't always normal conversation. A lot of names, proper nouns, etc that swype just fails miserably at.

You must be doing something wrong, then, because those get added to my dictionary the first time I use 'em.

Anyway, the only T-Mo compatible semi-modern one is the Galaxy S Relay 4G/Blaze Q (T699). Dual-Krait like the S3, but WVGA and not 720p and 1gb RAM not 2. Also, the official OS is still 4.0 and you have to rely on not-quite-mature CM for newer stuff.

I believe it's discontinued at stores and the T-Mo site, though there's an ebay seller offering 'em new and IMEI-safe for $330.

Swipe can't truly replace physical keyboards because your eyes need to be on screen. It's really one big compromise I live with, with today's smart phones. I don't know if someone can swipe without looking at the screen but I haven't managed to accomplish that yet and probably never.

whoever invents something to solve this dilemma of touch screen will make lots of money.
