Bluetooth receiver for PC

I have a bluetooth headset I'd like to connect to my PC, is there a receiver that is considered better than others or would any old one work just fine?

Forgive my stupid question, I did a search but didn't find a lot of direct info. Thanks

As in they all work fine or they all have problems? Again i'm not familiar with this technology outside the PS3 and wireless phones.

i have some generic one that cost me 3.99 on sale so buy the cheapest one you can find. Has worked fine in Vista and many linux distros without needing me even to provide drivers. Have used with my Sony headphones and 3 different cell phones.
