i just got a new phone and i was borrowing my bros headset, whenever the headset turns off and then on, i have to tell the phone to rediscover the headset.

Is this normal? Doesn't that reduce the usefulness of using a wireless headset?

What kind of phone do you have? What bt headset?

Most times if you push the "answer" button on a bt headset that is already paired to a phone it will reconnect. Newer phones will also reconnect on their own. My SE w300i and my Jabra BT500 automatically reconnect when they are back within range of each other.

You can also always search through howardforums for the answer:

I have a Motorola Razr and I turn bluetooth off so it doesn't kill the battery. I only temporally allow bluetooth to turn on when I go to use it. Though...I use a motorola H300 headset and like it a lot. Very comfortable.
