Bluetooth Headset

I am finally giving in. I use a wired headset in my car and *gasp* actually hold the phone to my ear when I am not in the car. However, my current headset is about to fall apart and I figure it is time to move into the 21st century, headset-wise. I currently have a Treo 650 but will be getting an iPhone in August.

So, what is the general consensus best "bang for your buck" Bluetooth headset (or are they all pretty much created equal)?

The Jawbone is arguably the best out now. When I tried it, I was in my friend's car doing 60 or so with the windows down. My gf couldn't tell though, and said the call was very clear. I hated the way the Jawbone fitted, and would advise you to try it out first.

I highly recommend the BluAnt Z9. I recommend it over the Jawbone:

It is smaller than the Jawbone and fits better. The buttons are large and easy to use. The price is better. It works consistently with the iPhone, while the Jawbone does not (well, the Jawbone works, but the noise isolation doesn't always). I was pretty close to buying a Jawbone, but after doing a shootout with my friend who also has an iPhone and Jawbone, the BlueAnt Z9 won out. I'm quite pleased with it.

I'm sure they do, but I saw it at my local cellular store. It was a mom & pop type of place though.

Are you sure the problems you had with the Jawbone wasn't caused by the iPhone? I only know 3 people with the iPhone, but they all complain about the call quality. How do you and your pal feel about it? I ask because I'm planning on getting the new 3G iPhone.

Here's a review of the BluAnt. Both seem to have comfort issues, so be sure to try them before you buy.

EDIT:I just saw that they are making a new Jawbone. The comment section is what caught my eye. Apparently the charging unit might have issues.

For what it's worth I have the Blueant Z9 and with the newest firmware 3.4 it works very well for me, great sounding and plenty loud for noisy environments.

Turns out my brother-in-law, who was over for lunch today, has a Jawbone and he has an iPhone (which I am planning on getting in a couple months). He likes the Jawbone very much. I tried it out and is seemed fine for me. I am going to order one online today and see how it goes.

If you're having problems with Jawbone fit I highly recommend also getting the Jabra Eargels:

They replace the stock rubber ear pieces allowing you to wear the Jawbone without the ear clips and they are nice and secure. I haven't had any issues with them falling off and haven't used superglue or anything either.

Nokia BH-800, not good for blocking out background noises but the best I've used all around. Supports A2DP so when people call me and I'm wearing it while driving or something I know who's calling cos it'll play their ringtone. Awesome headset and IMO the best looking. Very loud and clear and no echo for the person you're calling.
