The reason I am posting this is I just got my order of 3 of them. I tested them on 5 different machines, Vista and XP and they work flawlessly. Installed in just a few seconds with the built in drivers, and the range is a great as the built in bluetooth on my laptop and a 35.00 pcmcia card on a customers computer.

It does take awhile to be deliverd. Mine took 3 weeks.

i need a bluetooth for mah netbook (yes, i got one without bluetooth and didnt care, then got a bluetooth phone...)

what does windows tell you about this adapter or does it have any information on it? i use linux and will probably snag a couple since theyre cheap, but wanted to ask anyway 🙂

thanks!

I got two of these. I don't even know why. Can I download games/music/ringtones to my computer and transfer them to my phone and take phone made videos and transfer them to my pc with this?

I'm new to what bluetooth can do besides link cell phones/ear pieces together... if I get two of these, could I link two PC's together for wireless bluetooth networking?

almost all of these newer ones are compatible with all OSes. All the new ones are of this "super small" variety it seems.

Ubuntu I know you don't even have to install a driver in 8.10 its there already. Should work fine in XP and up i'd imagine.

Yes you can network, albeit at slow speeds. Most people would be using these for mouse, keyboards, headsets/headphones, and other peripherals, in addition to connecting to their cellphone. In my case I have a nice wireless headphone set that I would use with my netbook.

depends more on your phone than this device. check if your phone supports file transfer or object push profiles.

I own one of these... cheap but keep in mind the entire metal portion of the dongle does not fit into a USB port so it ends up sticking out a little bit (you can see this in the picture on the website). I found that its okay for occasional use but if you're planning on leaving it in a netbook all the time like i was hoping to, it just gets bumped too much. Also its flimsy... feels like a $3 item as the plastic portion comes off easily... a little superglue helped me remedy that problem.
