Ok, so I installed an USB Bluetooth adapter, it is recognized by Windows, and the drivers are installed. Next, I turn on bluetooth on my phone (Sony Ericsson T637) and launch the Windows Bluetooth wizard. It succesfully finds the phone and adds it to the device list. COM ports are created and everything is fine.

Until I try to do anything with it. Can't use Microsoft SMS Sender, as an error pops us saying that it cannot find or communicate witht the phone.

I try to synch up Outlook using the software provided (XTND ConnectPC) and can't connect either. It's like Windows can see the phone, but can't communicate with it. Weird.

Any ideas?

You should try to use the software that came with the Bluetooth adapater. It's usually a CD with a program called BlueSoleil.

For my phone, I use the Windows Wizard to transfer files and it works well. BlueSoleil takes more of a learning curve, but it unleashes every device's services and abilities.

For example, http://www.trustedreviews.com/images/article/inline/1211-screeny1.jpg has some icons up tight hilighted indicating those services are available for the specified BT device.

Well, XTND is giving me a headache. When it works, it works well. But the piece of crap keeps crashing.

My bluetooth adapter is working fine now, so I just need to get a better Synch software to keep my phone and Outlook updated.

Is there anything better than XTND? I can't find anything built into Windows that'll let me synch up my phone. What about ActiveSync?
