Threads only has a view where random posts from others come in. And often it's to drive you crazy engagement to bait and just nonsense and that's the stuff that aggravates you. And people just don't want to see other nonsense. They just wanted to experience their self-curated feed. And then if they want to there's a discovery feed or something like that where you can see other posts suggested by the algorithm.

And also really, fuck Mark Zuckerberg.

So just like the main Facebook feed - one friend and a bunch of random fucking bullshit. I'm 1 step away from permanently deleting Facebook because of how useless the main feed is and the fact that the friends feed is buried. Totally broke their core product.

Yeah, I used it very little to begin with, but now I want to use it even less. My Instagram feed is actually better, it doesn't start showing me random shit until I've scrolled past any new posts I haven't seen from people I'm following. FB seems to be 70% random shit now.

What counts as a "Threads account"? It seems that if you have an Instagram account, you also have a Threads account? I have two Instagram accounts for music stuff but have never touched Threads itself directly.

I have a Meta account because I was dumb enough to purchase a Quest 2. I refuse to sign up for any other Zuckerberg product. Remember that dweeb has almost never had a truly original idea; they are pretty good at copying other people's shit though.

IIRC you do have to "opt in" to Threads, but yeah they made it as frictionless as possible by leveraging their IG user base.

Yeah, the only reason have IG is because that's how musicians (and fans) connect around here, after people kept asking for mine I figured it would probably be in my interest to have one.
