Anyone have experience buying form this place?

I'm looking at buying an engagement ring, I've went to the reputable local jeweler in town (no mall chains) and they just didn't have a diamond that suited me and I wasn't a huge fan of their lack of GIA certifications on the rocks.

So I'm looking online and wonder about Blue Nile.

edit NVM I found some past posts sorry!

engagement ring, wedding band, my wedding ring, and princess stud earrings

happy with all the purchases!

Bought my wife's engagement and wedding ring as a set there. Their prices were much cheaper, and quality much better than the dozen or so local stores I tried.

I looked at them, but even after FatCash and the VISA coupon, they still ended up being more expensive than the local place I ended up getting my fiance's engagement ring from. I also like the fact that by buying local, she was able to get the ring resized for free after she got it (it was a little too big).

If I had bought from BlueNile, I would have had to have shipped it back, waited, had then send it back to me bla bla bla.

Plus, the local place will clean her ring for free any time she wants to have it done, and they give you back 100% of the value of the diamond towards an "upgrade" should you choose to do so in the future.

I actually had really good service at the Jareds near me for my wife's engagement ring. It was an heirloom diamond from my family and my wife wanted something simple (she does quite a bit of crafts and costume design, didn't want to worry about snagging the ring on stuff) so we weren't spending a huge amount of money. They knew they weren't going to make much off of us but still treated us great. I imagine that this could change quite a bit depending on the store though.

The only jeweler I like better is a woman in my home town that makes custom things. Her prices are amazingly low for custom work, check out your local places.
