blue screen when trying to shut down

i did not install any new software nor did i make any major tweaks in the past few days but recently, my winXP could not shutdown appropriately. blue screen appear when it try to shutdown, showing it's doin physical memory dump. wat happened???

Read my .sig, and debug the memory dump - that will tell you why your box crashed. Post the output of '!analyze -v' here.

well, I'll need some info about the system 1st.

Motherboard Manufacturer with Model and BIOS Revision:

RAM Manufacturer and Model:
PSU Manufacturer and Model:

and could you burn http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/ to a cd and run memtest86+ for a minimum of 6 hours and report back the results?

Oh, and please run MPSReports (see my .sig) and send me the resulting computername.cab file too, as that will make finding what the !analyze -v report highlights easier.

PS: The section on the website is the 'BSOD Hell and how to fix it' section - read that, install the debugger, run the command shown, and post the results so we can see it. That should tell you what's going wrong.
