blue screen of death --with Easy CD creator

Easy Cd creator causes blue screen of death quite a bite whats the prblem with this program ,does anybody eles has this problem!!!!!

"If you encounter problems (not booting into windows, blue screens,...) after installing one of these (CD-R) programs, rename the Scsi1hlp.vxd file in the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\IOSUBSYS map to Scsi1hlp.old .

If you have or had installed Adaptec Easy CD Creator (and especially Adaptec DirectCD) you MUST do the the above prior to installing any other CD-R software. Otherwise, Easy CD Creator will nuke your day... Somehow Easy CD Creator f*cks up other CD-R software (even if you uninstalled Easy CD Creator), but by renaming the vxd file you can avoid problems and will Easy CD Creator live in peace with other software..."

I found Scsi1hlp.vxd its asking me to open it with a program !!!or do i go to system configuration utility, can you help on this -thanks

this came with the 32x12x10 plexter and also my old hi-val cd- rw so i don't think updates will help!!!!!!

and i will nero and see how this works

You just want to rename the file. Right click on it and choose rename. This allows you to restore easily if something needs this file (which is unlikely because it has to do with older legacy scsi hardrives).

I tried this and it worked!!! no blue screen at the and and no freezeups Thanks for the help , just one more question can you explain about scsi file thing i don't exactly understand about that file being old !!!!!!!and won't be used
