A friends computer gets the BSOD every time it starts up
the error msg is: fatal exception 0D has ocured at 1F87:00000032

it's windows 95. I have switched the poewr supply, ram, and CPU

any ideas

trying to avoid that. I can get into safe mode, but I think this is a hardware problem. I took out the hard drive from the bad computer and put it in another as the boot drive and it started up just fine. the only thing left would be the video card or mother board I guess. by the way does anyone know how to get the NIC card working in safe mode? safe mode with networking support doesn't do it (I thought it did 🙁 )

I believe installing windows again would be much simpler than what you have gone through this far and would probably fix the problem.

Reinstall Windows. It should fix your problem and it only takes 30 min. You wont loose anything.

ok gonna do it
this POS is giving me so many dang headaches...I just want to blow it up
am I still allowed to say that?

Even it there was a hardware problem, it's quite likely that that led to the corruption of system files and thus the BSOD. Re-instaling windows is always my first course of action. There isn't a hardware manufacturer out there that is more shoddy in their design than microsoft is with theirs.

Go to start>run>msconfig and see if it's a program starting up that is screwing up your boot. This happened to me...The program was WebHancer Agent, I think.
