trying to avoid that. I can get into safe mode, but I think this is a hardware problem. I took out the hard drive from the bad computer and put it in another as the boot drive and it started up just fine. the only thing left would be the video card or mother board I guess. by the way does anyone know how to get the NIC card working in safe mode? safe mode with networking support doesn't do it (I thought it did 🙁 )
Even it there was a hardware problem, it's quite likely that that led to the corruption of system files and thus the BSOD. Re-instaling windows is always my first course of action. There isn't a hardware manufacturer out there that is more shoddy in their design than microsoft is with theirs.
Go to start>run>msconfig and see if it's a program starting up that is screwing up your boot. This happened to me...The program was WebHancer Agent, I think.
