Blue screen / Cannot boot my computer

So recently my computer has been up to some funny business. Today I was playing some starcraft 2 and my game froze up. I turned off my computer and restarted. Everything seemed fine, I was playing starcraft for awhile more, but the same thing happened eventually. This time when I restarted my computer booted fine but when it came to the login screen for windows my monitor went black. I restarted again but when the windows screen was about to come back I got a blue screen that was only viewable for a bit, but it was associated with the nv_disp drivers so I assumed it is my video card drivers. I went through safe mode, uninstalled and reinstalled new drivers (there was a recent new release). Everything booted up fine, but when the windows screen was about to come up again my screen went black. At this point I am out of ideas, just wondering if you guys could offer some advice, try and help me out.

My specs:

ASUS A8V Deluxe Mobo
2.2Ghz AMD socket 939 processor
2gb Gskill DDR 400 (PC 3200) memory
Nvidia 6800 AGP 8x video card
Windows XP SP3

Thanks
