Blue Nomad II MP3 Player 0MB Recertified $49.99 in stock

Please note that the site says it "does not include memory or FM tuner capability" when all Nomad II models have FM capability (in fact it's listed under "Features" on that same page!). I would thus be a little suspect that this is truly a Nomad II. Might want to contact TigerDirect to be sure of what you're ordering, especially given their reputation.

Argh. Tricky.

i've heard bad things from people who ordered these refurb units from tigerdirect... most had some stuff missing.... it's better to order it direct from creative... got mine from creative a few weeks ago, no complaints...

If it does not have an FM Tuner than it is a Nomad IIc as opposed to a II. I got a Nomad II from Fry's refurbed a couple weeks ago and I love it. I wish it was this l33t blue color but oh well 🙂

im guessing its a nomad IIc also, thats how they call it nomad II w/o FM. they never got me the 32mb the first time around, i guess they learned their lesson and put big NO MEMORY in the title

I got in on this deal the last time TD had it and they screwed it ALL up. It wasn't just me...HUNDREDS of people from here and ObeseWallet had the same problem: It was advertised to come with 32MB memory, headphones, and they were supposed to be open box returns. What we all got was NO MEMORY, NO HEADPHONES, and a box with a big honkin' label that said REFURBISHED. When TD was contacted, they offered to take back the product (you pay shipping), or some people were offered a memory card, but most weren't. I even faxed them a copy of their web page and they basically said "sorry.....we'll sell you the accessory kit for the Nomad at our cost however if you want that". TD is suk. :|

I thought that all of the IIC models (aka no radio) had onboard memory (32 or 64MB) and the plain old II had no memory but an FM radio. I got one of these refurbs from TD in December with no problems, so I figured I'd try again. Maybe I'll get lucky and get a II with the radio. a 128 MB card from Newegg ($40) and the 96 kbs WMF format gives plenty of time.

The email response from TigerDirect to my complaint that they can not possibly be selling (and thus doing false advertising) a true "Nomad II" if it doesn't have an FM tuner (unless they're selling ones with broken FM tuners--which wouldn't exactly qualify as "recertified"):

Sorry, but no. the ones we are selling are an older version of the Nomad II that does not include an FM tuner.

Unless someone has knowledge of a Nomad II (not IIc) that comes without an FM tuner, this still qualifies as false advertising. And, if I remember correctly, the Nomad IIc came after the II. In any case, their continued desire to mislead people is really annoying me. . . .

I think that both the II and IIc models come in 0MB, 32MB onboard, and 64MB onboard versions.

I have just received my order yesterday (4/22/02). It come in a white box. The box contains a blue Nomad II (confirm, not IIc), which has FM tuner, Creative street-style headphone, an AA alkaline battery, USB cord, quick start manual and cd. There is NO SM included.

I am pretty happy with the price ($49 + shipping)

First time buying here but good experiece.

Forgot one thing, I have already upgrade its firmware to V3.00.233. No problem at all. Now I can use my 128MB Smartmedia.

Bonne chance!!
