Blue light special

Got a little crazy with the blue Coolermaster LED fans. Got 5 of them lighting up my system, plus a UV cold cathode for highlights (like adding a little extra glow to the IDE cables and such). I'm still not sure about the yellow cable ties I have in there for a bit of color. I have some blue zip ties as well, but they don't fluoresce under UV light like the other colors that came in the kit of 500 ties (blue, yellow, green, orange and pink) I picked up at Home Depot for $8.

Just curious what you folks here at AT think of the whole thing.

Not my type of thing, as the lights don't provide any function, but it's your case, so if you like it, then cool. 😎

HAHA I'm into that now too, except the compusa ones, but they're basically the same and also blue. I've got built in blue lights with my new PSU, and just bought my second 80mm today with a hole saw, but i've not yet drilled a second hole. i MAY get a third one too.

personally, i like blue more than any other color for CCFL

Yeah, me too! I've got 5 blue fans, 2 ccfl, blue feet, blue led, blue controls on a black case. I think it looks cool!

I have 5 CM blue 80mm fans. Do you think there brighter than Generic Blue 80mm fans?

They are noticably brighter than most of the generic ones I've seen. Running straight off of the regular Molex connectors, that is. If you run them through a fan controller or run them off of the Fan Only connectors on an Antec TruePower, their brightness goes down along with the fans speed. They are also quieter than most generics, rated for about 25 dB. Not as quiet as a Panaflo, but loads better than your run of the mill no-name fan.

They are also cheap as heck if you buy in bulk from newegg. I got my five for $6 a piece, free shipping and no tax. If you order ten, the price goes down to $4.50 a piece. Cheaper than a lot of generics I've seen. That price includes a set of screws and 3-pin to Molex adaptors.

Yeah I got my from Newegg. The fans I have looked green. Until I noticed it's just the reflection off the Green PCV motherboard!

I plugged on in to the case and compared it to the Generic ones. Yeah it's brighter, faster and quieter. Down fall is the sleving I've got on the others. Looks like I'll have to plan these replacements.

FYI...
One of the cooliest things I like about my case is the Thermaltake Redeye on the top. It's a bright blue fan with a red led that's lights up with my HD access! I always known when the drive is being accessed.

Almost forgot, it looks like you got the same GPU cooler too. Vantec Ice Burg?

Yep. got tired of the grinding sound the stock fan made.

I think the new orange LED fans are going to be very popular to use with blue fans, blue + orange = cool color combo.
