Blue Chieftec case W/window and 450W pwr supply at Newegg

same thing as my antec 1030B except newer and fancier and 100 more watts. nice case for sure.

It is a good case for pretty cheap. There aren't many cases that can be decent looking, come with a psu, and be made of aluminum for the same price. Sure Lian Li's look better, but who wants to spend that much on a case?

 
Def dont think that is an ugly case. Personally I am not a big fan of the clean edges of a Lian Li. I think this case has some personality although it is getting overplayed now.

I agree. I don't really see the attraction with the lian li's.... they're pretty boring IMO. I have the Chieftec in yellow w/ some yellow CCFLs. I like this case waaay better than the lian li. Maybe its just me....
 
i was suprised that the the crappy powersupply wasnt the contents of the first reply... I would find it somewhere without a powersupply for cheaper and then buy a good powersupply...
 
I bought this case from Xtreme. I'm not sure if it's the same one you guy showing here. It came with 450watt power supply and red/yellow led fans. 2 in back, 1 on the side, and 1 in the front. They all LEDed. The power supply have a blue LED which I like more.

Over all, this case is very nice. But I don't like it very much. Here are why I personallity don't like it very much:
- The Aliminum is a little thin which make it feel a little cheap.
- vibrate. I am not sure if b/c of my CPU fan, but it rattle.
- LEDs not Blue but Yellow/Red
- The front Head phone plug and mic, the cabling run all the way to the back and outside of the case to let you plug it into the sound card. It exposes out the back.
- The power supply have very few power cable.

are u crazy? aluminum is always much better low temperature in side and light weight. Steel is bad for keeping the temperature low and very heavy. Aluminum is always much better no matter how thin it is !!

You have become a victim of marketing hype. Aluminum is a good heat conductor for a heatsink directly in contact with the heat source, but makes an insignificant difference when it's not in contact with the heat source. The air in a system is exchanged by the fans dozens of times per minute even with low-RPM fans, could never get hot enough for there to be any significant difference.

As for weight, yes Aluminum is lighter. Unless you're backpacking around with it, that's not a benefit, it's a problem. It rattles more and bends easier. If you have these case near full, you'll be bending the framework if you aren't VERY careful how you move the aluminum version of this case. I have BOTH in front of me right now, the difference is obvious. The only benefit I see to the Aluminum is that it won't rust if it gets wet, and the higher reflectivity on the inside will help spread interior light(ing).
 
If I was going to be lugging one to lan parties i'd definately opt for aluminum 18lbs vs 40 emtpy.. thats a big difference.

aluminum in these case's isn't as strong as steel but it's well designed capacious and has a PS regardless of Ps quality
this isn't too bad a deal. I'd probably opt for my own PS in another case.

I wish we could find the new Alienware case's for sale those are truly odd looking.
 
Everyone's entitled to take their own risks, but if I were choosing the steel or Al version to tote around, I'd rather carry the extra weight and not worry about destroying anything inside. It'd be better to choose a smaller case for that purpose though, which would also make it less significant which metal was used.
 
Would the whole case setup look bad if you had like white drives and a white monitor? What are your opinions?
