People who choose sherbet over ice cream deserve what they get.Actually they're recalling ALL products including ice cream, maybe edit thread title?

So is this a second recall?
About a month ago, only a certain few flavors were recalled. Then a few weeks after that, the grocery near me took out ALL flavors. Last week, I went to that grocery store and they had blue bell again with a sign saying these are new batches that are safe, etc.
And then yesterday I see the article about recalling, so is this a second full recall different from a few weeks ago?
I'm thinking something bigger is going on that is causing this listeria contamination in multiple products.
You've never seen the inside of a food production plant, have you? There's no conspiracy, just business running amuck![]()
Is it still "better by a country mile?"
"they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headaches, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women."
"The products being recalled are distributed to retail outlets, including food service accounts, convenience stores and supermarkets in Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Wyoming and international locations*."
So basically anybody who got milk products from a certain farm is likely to find the cause of this outbreak. How did listeria get into the ice creams in the first place? Adalja says it will be tough to pinpoint the source, but notes that listeria is commonly found in herd animals like cows.
This will be expensive....
