blue and red dots when i select/highlight on the desktop?

rig is in my sig, but anyway this is my problem:

there are blue and red dots in ONLY the black parts of the image. doesnt happen with any other color but black, and it also occurs in any image too. if i press F5, the dots go away and everything is back to normal.

this only happens if i click and drag across the desktop. if i click normally, nothing happens...

im thinking its the nvidia drivers, but any ideas guys?

Weird.

Kinda looks like the sparkling/twinkling effect IPS monitors often have.

Are you overclocking your video card? I used to have issues with 2D rendering when I clocked my GPU to high. It would run 3D fine, but I would get 2D artifacts from time to time.
