I currently have an LG GGW-H20L drive installed. I also have the full nero 8 suite installed with the blu-ray plugin and nero showtime. Do I need the nvidia purevideo hd software. I am not to sure what it is or how to use or get it if someone could clarify that for me please. I have the latest certified nvidia drivers installed for the gtx280.

2nd Question: I have a license for dvdfab but the 5 version not the 6 one. There is a license it looks like you buy for bluray do I need to buy that or will my license be able to take advantage of the bluray ripping?

Thank you for any and all information.

Have you tried to play a blu ray disc? If it runs, then you don't need it.

DVDFAB does require a seperate license for Blu Ray .. Go to their web site dvdfab.com and request the updated V6 license file.
If you then want to burn Blu Ray, you can see the purchase options for it. I would suggest going for the Lifetime updates even though inititally it is more costly. More info can be found on their support forums.

I can only answer for your 1st question. You do not need anything to enable PureVideo if you use full Nero Suite. Assuming you have ForceWare drivers installed, Nero will recognize your video card and automatically enable PureVideo functions. Just in case, double check if there is any option like "Enable hardware acceleration" or "Enable PureVideo" in Nero. Whether it works or not can be verified by CPU usage while Blu-Ray playback. There are supposedly other 'visually enhancing' features in PureVideo, but with Blu-Ray being Blu-Ray it'll be hard to tell such enhancement. (i.e. you'll have a good quality video anyway)
