Sunshine is my favorite blu-ray to showcase, but The Matrix would also probably be really good. Inception had some interesting special features.

no jack
im afraid i was unimpressed
on my equip
on friends equipment
etc.etc.
is it bette rthan hd streaming? yeah
if i do not split hairs tho, i dont enjy a movie any less via broadcast or dvd
ias for insecurities please
youre the one who brought in shitty equipment herring
dont put your rationalization of whatever point you are trying to make on me

i'm sure in 20 years we'll have 4k tv's and media, and in another 10 years after that they'll be affordable, but by that time you'll say the same thing about that.

nah, i just am over optical media
br in my exp is slow
chock full of menus/promos
more expensive
still the same flimsy plastic much like the ones they were selling in the 80s
bluray been around half a decade+ now or so and still doesnt outsell dvd
seems the public dont care either
its not as if were gojng from 2 head vhs to dvd

So basically you are unimpressed with how publishers approach media distribution, not blu–ray. So you can stop threadcrapping in these threads now that we cleared that up.

The point is VERY easy to understand. Crap equipment, crap results. Pretty simple to understand I thought. If you were unimpressed, you need better equipment or are simply in denial and dismiss it because it is out of your price range or don't want to spend the extra money.

If you want the best PQ and AQ, BD is the ONLY way to go. If you want to stream it, rip it to a HDD. But either way, BD IS the source and again, it doesn't get any better than BD now. If you are satisfied with shitty DVD quality, knock yourself out. But don't try and pretend there is only a minor difference just to make yourself feel better. That is simply false. I gave you the benefit of the doubt saying you were just using shitty equipment, but the truth of the matter is, you may just be in denial.

😀
i am happy with shitty dvd quality supplemented with hd broadcast/on demand
as appparently the vast majority of the public is as well
im sorry but bluray isnt the revolution u want it to be
it just aint that much better jack which is why its still lagging way behind the "shitty" dvd format in sales
and by the time it catches up it might as well be known as laser disc II

so lets summarize
br=best
most dont care
dvd spanks it
optical media is a dinosaur format
br is 2006
by the time it pulls even with dvd no one will care

That must be why dialup is still so popular, because broadband isn't that great. Your reasoning is inaccurate. You are likely to be the only person in the world rejecting blu-ray.

Is that how you determine quality? lol I guess Wal-Mart is the pinnacle of quality considering it does so well with the general public. 🙄

Facts are, BD is growing fast (actually faster than I'd like). So don't hold your breath for BD to die out anytime soon. But you go ahead and stick with your Wal-Mart standards and I'll stick with BD. We'll both be happy then.

That's like saying most people don't care about discrete graphics or quad cores, listen to yourself man, this is supposed to be a technology website! 😛 With people like you there would never be any Ferraris, skyscrapers, or Great Pyramid's in the world. Not every change is revolutionary like the jump from VHS to DVD was- advances in technology follow a law of diminishing returns and impact on society. We'll never again have the same shock we had when we saw the first electric light bulbs will we? Does that mean people should just stop redesigning the light bulb?

the analog is absurd
but feel free to go with it
my walmart standards lololol
if i didnt know better id say ur trying to hurt my feelings

that isnt what im saying
im saying i dont have faith in bluray as a format
in my life
i dont see a future with bluray in it for me.
br has been supplanted by hd on demand for me/and netflix and broadcast
is the quality in inferior, sure
is it so inferior as to compell me to bother with bluray, not by a mile.
people like me? thats an interesting statement

Not trying to hurt your feelings. You just apparently have lower standards, that is all.

yeah
but dont say lower tandards like its some bad thing or something
i dont have a fucking disease or anything ffs.

As it pertains to AV spaceman, you have lower standards!
:O OMFG!, if thats the worst thing i am accused of having in life ill have done ok.

Why do you feel the need to share your personal sentiment on here when someone clearly interested in bluray is asking for advice? When I say "people like you" I mean I've never seen someone who is actually a lover of technology denounce something so readily just because it doesn't work for them or they don't need it

Y U NO STOP FEEDING TROLL??

Seriously.

well the thread kinda got there, these thingshappen..this is off topic, not av forums
as for the 2nd part, well thats ubiquitous on this forum, people flame ppl for degrees of difference in tech everywhere here, you arent looking if u dont see that
in hindsight, i should have prolly not said anything..but i am far from a pioneer in denouncing bluray, there are detractors all over the web
many can articulate my thoughts on it better than i can.

difference, i flamed the tech.not the person
other made it personal
i responded
