Blu-ray: burner or player

I think I am going to pull the trigger and buy one of the new AMD mobos that can run onboard hi-def without pushing the CPU. (790GX ?)

Now, do I buy a Blu-ray player (and DVD burner) for $160 or do I buy the burner for $239

or...

just wait.

Buy whatever it is you need. If you think you'll be using blue rays for burning backups then get the burner. Mainly go with what you can afford.

I'll spring for a burner when they drop below $100. Or if a client were to need something burned to Blu-Ray, but I don't see that happening before prices drop more anyways.

Why ask us without providing a breakdown of your needs? It's up to you.
