Blowing a room fan into your case -- more harm than good?

my room is really hot and humid (no a/c)

if i were to take a regular room fan and blow it into my open case, would it do more harm than good? would dust be a major problem? thx in advnace

A friend has done this with quite alot of success. The room is hot, but dry. He just leaves the side of his case off, and has a fan leaning against it.

and don't let any inquisitive little brothers or sisters get their hands inside that open case! :)

i do that with my old celly, it wont get dusty at all unless the area ur case is in is very very dirty.

yeah, and keep the rodents and housepets out of the computer if you have the side off :)

Yeah, I agree, how can dust settle with a constant wind blowing through your case? I'd think you'll have less dust than a sealed case collects. I frequently leave a side off a case when I'm working on a machine and find temps at least as low as with the side on and frequently a few degrees cooler.

Take a look at your cpu and case fans and you tell me if there's dust on them.
