Blowhole or sidefan?

Hi, I have a case that does now give much room for my powersupply, because the top blowhole fan blocks the psu. My question is should I cut a 80mm hole on the side window of my case to blow on my vga or extend the blowhole a few mm and exaust air from it thanks

I'd say exhaust, but others might differ.

It would probably be better if you just move the blowhole a little since removing hot air is more critical to your system.

hmm that seems a little easier too lol. To do this would I need to use a jigsaw knife? It is aluminum

Do they have 80mm hole saws? I'd recommend a dremel too.

i like side fans, just because you usually already have more fans intake then out, and usually when cooling your case you want to cool your GPU, CPU and RAM more then the ambiant and blowing cold air 20-25C from outside your case straight on them will help alot more then reducing the ambiant to 33C

Yes and bigger too. I used a 4 1/2" diameter hole-saw to put a blowhole in my case with a 120mm fan. You really need to use a drill press to do it right though. I can't imagine using a handheld drill; you could get hurt!

shoot I did this the other day with my cord less dewalt drill all you gata do is make a pilot hole first and do it slow ..

just used a 3 1/4" hole saw. took a total of about 3 minutes for both.

Hmmm . . . that looks pretty good. Was that cutting aluminum or steel? When I cut my steel Antec case, it was no party even with a drill press. Of course, it was a larger hole. Maybe the size makes a difference?

sheet metal like most cases.. all I did was dropped a chalk line accross it measured 9 1/2 inches from the front drilled 2 small holes for starters and then used the hole saw really really slow...each hole probally took a minute to go through.. then I laid the fan on the hole and drilled the 4 mounting holes freehand...

Well, you just prove it can be done freehand. I guess I'm just chicken.
